Spreading Smiles Through Table Soccer !
On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we’re proud to share an incredible milestone! The Nepal Table Foosball Association (NTFA), in collaboration with, the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF), philoro, Daraz Nepal & Sankata Club, Kathmandu has implemented the "100 Foosball Tables for Schools" program.
Two special care centers – Shishu Bikash Kendra, Pokhara and Amarjyoti Boarding School, Bhairahawa – have received Foosball tables as part of this initiative. These centers, supporting children with neurodivergent conditions like Down syndrome, now have a new tool for development and joy!
Why Table Soccer ?
Table Soccer isn’t just a game – it’s a transformative activity that promotes focus, coordination, and teamwork. With training and support from NTFA and partners, caregivers are now integrating Foosball into children’s daily routines, fostering growth, confidence, and social interaction.
The donations were made possible through the support of key partners :
• Philoro, ITSF Official Partner - "100 Foosball Tables for Schools" program.
• Daraz Nepal the leading e-commerce platform, served as the shipment partner, ensuring the timely delivery of the tables.
• Sankata Club, Kathmandu for training and orientation support to caregivers and staff.
• Mr. Umesh Ghimire, Founder and General Secretary of NTFA, for coordinating the initiative.
Here’s what the centers had to say:
- “This Foosball table will add a new dimension to our care methods. It’s a wonderful gift for our children,” shared a representative from Shishu Bikash Kendra.
- “The generosity and support of NTFA will surely bring joy and growth opportunities for our children,” remarked Amarjyoti Boarding School.
Together, we’re committed to empowering children through inclusive sports. With more institutions to reach, the journey continues In Nepal. We hope to have the chance to be able to meet children from these schools at the next World Cup in Zaragoza.
