Selection of countries for the World Cup and group draw

The selection of the countries which will participate in the World Cup will be done through an Executive Committee’s vote, which will take into account the ITSF World Rankings of Nations and continental representation, as had been voted upon 2 years ago at the 2006 General Assembly in case there would not have been enough time to set up continental qualification tournaments before the next World Cup.
Seeding will be done using the Rankings of Men’s national teams and Women’s national teams.
This vote will take place on October 31st.

As for the drawing, to determine the groups, it will take place some time between October 31st and November 15th.
We will keep you informed of the actual date.

Just a reminder that member federations must enter on our website their national champions and wild cards, and their choice of tables by October 31st, 2008 at the latest (unless their official national qualifying tournament takes place after that date, in which case they must send us the date of their national qualifying event).

Please provide a picture for each player entered.

As for the World Cup teams, member federations must enter their national team members and the choice of the table for each team (the Women’s team and the Men’s team from the same country can choose different tables) by November 15th, 2008 at the latest.


Referees at the World Cup

Member federations must send us the list of all the persons who can be called upon to referee matches during the World Cup.
Please indicate whether they are players or not (whatever their referee level may be: Assistant, Regional, National, International*, International**, Head Official).

Also please note that each federation needs to name someone who will be the reference person for all relations with the Rules Commission during the event.
This person can either be the coach, the delegate or a player.
Please send us the name of that person together with your list of referees.
