Meeting with the IOC on March 15

On Thursday, March 15th, 2007, Mr Farid Lounas, ITSF President, and Mr Ludovic Neri, President of the Administrative Commission of ITSF, met with Mr Kelly Fairweather, IOC Sports Director and Mr Jean-Laurent Bourquin, Senior Manager in the IOC Sports Department, in Lausanne, Switzerland.

They discussed the ongoing relationships between ITSF and the IOC, which started in January 2003 - 5 months after the creation of ITSF - when Mr Lounas and Mr Massimo Ragona, President of the Italian table soccer federation, had met with Mr Gilbert Felli, the then IOC Director of Sports.

During the March 15th meeting, Mr Lounas and Mr Neri gave a detailed presentation of ITSF's current development and inquired about the IOC's policies towards international federations.

As for IOC recognition, it is subject to a long process that requires several steps, the first of which is the application for membership with WADA , the World Anti-Doping Agency. This will be carried out shortly.

The next step will then consist in applying for membership with GAISF, the General Association of International Sports Federations. This will be done in September 2007, with an expected answer in April 2008.

Following Mr Fairweather's advice, Mr Lounas will be attending the upcoming SportAccord, the International Sports Convention, that will take place in Beijing, China, on April 23-27, 2007.
