Garlando World Championship Series

Rating categories

There are 3 rating categories:
Pro = Promaster and Pro in the Garlando Rankings + ITSF Pro Players
Semi Pro = Semi Pro in the Garlando Rankings + non Austrian players
Rookie = Rookies in the Garlando Rankings (Austrian players only)

4 weeks before the start of the event, the Open Combined Ranking (Singles + Doubles) will be displayed on the ITSF website upon reception of the results of the last event to take place before the 4-week span - changes taking place afterwards will not be taken into consideration.

The Top 150 players in this ranking will be considered Pro, and all non-Austrian players at least Semi-Pro.

Once you find out what your rating is, you will be able to register.
Please note that the highest rank of each player will be taken into account.

Deadline for registration is Monday, July 18th, 2011.
No registration will be considered after this date.

Top Seeds

All Top Seeds will also be determined using the rankings as they are 4 weeks before the start of the event, upon reception of the results of the last event to take place before the 4-week span.

Doubles partners

For Doubles events: a player may take part in a competition in a higher category than his/her own if his/her partner is ranked in that category.

National Teams Competition

Senior event

This year, there are separate competitions for Men's, Women's and Senior teams.
The format of the Senior team event is the same as that of the Women's event, as follows:
4 + 2 reserve players (minimum 3 players with some forfeited matches)

See National Teams Competition’s scoresheets.

As a reminder, please note that Seniors are players 50 years old and over (for the 2011 Tour: players born in 1960 or before).
Male and/or female players can be part of a Senior team.

As last year, when a men's team is not complete and a country is unable to field a women's team, women will be allowed to compete for the men's team.

Schedule

The team events include a qualifying phase which will start on the first day of the competition, on Thursday, July 28th, right after the presentation of the national teams at the Opening Ceremony which will take place at 6:30 pm this year.
The meeting with team captains and the draw for qualifiers will take place that same day at 1:00 pm.

The competition will be spread out over 2 days, some elimination matches taking place on the Friday with the Men’s final scheduled at 7:00 pm.
