Garlando World Championship Series


The second event of the World Championship Series (WCS) tournament category is being organized by the Austrian Federation of Table Soccer (TFBÖ) for the eleventh consecutive year.

Please note that this year, this event will take place in Oberwart.


The first 3 Open Singles winners as well as the winner of the Women's, Junior and Senior Singles categories will be automatically qualified for the World Championships.
These players also benefit from a travel package to attend the World Championships (each package amounts to € 250 to € 800 depending on where they reside).


TV coverage

This tournament will be covered by Kozoom, the production company that filmed the World Cup last January and several WCS events in the last 2 years.
The Eurosport 2 TV channel will then broadcast highlight features on this event.


National Teams Competition

As last year, in the National Teams Competition, there will be separate competitions for Men's and Women's teams.
And as last year also, when a men's team is not complete and a country is unable to field a women's team, women will be allowed to compete for the men's team.

We are pleased to introduce a Senior event in the National Teams Competition.
The format will be the same as that of the Women's event, as follows:
4 + 2 reserve players (minimum 3 players with some forfeited matches)

As a reminder, please note that Seniors are players 50 years old and over (for the 2011 Tour: players born in 1960 or before).
Male and/or female players can be part of a Senior team.


Schedule

These events will include a qualifying phase which will start on the first day of the competition, on Thursday, June 2nd, right after the presentation of the national teams at the Opening Ceremony which will take place at 6:30 pm this year.
The meeting with team captains and the draw for qualifiers will take place that same day at 1:00 pm.

The competition will be spread out over 3 days to make sure matches don't end late on the Thursday evening; therefore some elimination matches will take place over Friday and Saturday.
